Screenplay: a definition

I’ve just noticed for the first time that Wikipedia has an interesting entry for screenplay. Nice, basic info, and this being Wikipedia, you can always add information if you think the item needs an update.

According to this Wikipedia entry, I really should move to L.A.

Re-writing scripts is an art in itself and an extremely lucrative one at that: it is not unknown for trusted writers in the higher echelons of the industry to receive $200,000 a week (2004 numbers) for their efforts. $50,000 per week is not uncommon.

There’s also a Wikipedia entry for Cinema of Canada (where there isn’t much about Canadian writers) and Cinema of Quebec (where there is no section about writers at all).

  1. Interesting! Maybe you should add a comment about yourself in the Cinema of Quebec entry! Even if it gets edited out, a few people will see it in the interim. ;-)
